some things are just more complicated to create than they look. this photo took literally several hours to set up. it just felt so anticlimactic to push the button. it was an experiment with a new set up and lighting to enable me to produce a photo for a client. it turned out that my set up needed to have more room to fit what i needed in front of the back drop.
yup the exercise, the thought, and the planning (which i do all the time but was really out of my normal set up this time) gave me a whole new respect for in studio photography. the good thing that came out of it was that i was pleasantly surprised that my off camera flash skills had improved significantly! shout out to my friends Mary, Stephen, and Gretchen who almost but not quite have me hooked on off camera flash.
tried any new techniques lately that stretched you out of your comfort zone?
who pushes you to try outside your comfort zone?
want to know more about my setup and what i did?
